铰接式蛇

Summary

I think about reuse the octopus ball-jointing system for a quite long time. And I need something to scare my cat visiting my neighbour at my secondary residence because she's scared by cat. Hopefully I notice that may cat is scared by snake like object.... Got a solution, just need a snake head, Simpneeed is done for this!

The first cat's reaction seem to be "good".... Hope my neighbour isn't afraid by snake too!

The segment has been remade to improve a bit its flexibility.

Print Settings

Printer: SP-S1

Rafts: Doesn't Matter

Supports: Yes

Resolution: 0.1mm

Infill: 30%

Notes:

The scale I use for the tail is 228%, the biggest segment scale is 507%, the step I use for scale is 7%... I know I made some mistakes! The head scale is 520% make it easier the clip (not easy enough to avoid breaking the head connector... After breaking the tongue by awkwardness and tiredness). Many thanks to glue!

Possible enhancements

The Head

Making the head was quite difficult and there is some trouble as :

  • unwanted cavities (behind the eyes by example),

  • a too long neck (an be replaced by another segment),

  • not-separated tongue making it difficult to print, easy to break and not printable with another colour.

The Segments

Having a round (without the flat bottom) version would be nice. Having a nicer bottom is also possible.

The Tail

Making a version without bottom and without barrier around the ball would permit giving it many more positions can be nice too.

The Monster Option

Adding segment that permit making multi headed and/or multi tailed monster is also in my projects (don't hope it too soon).
